CHICAGO -- UIC continues its longest homestand of the season Saturday afternoon with a
Flames Family Weekend game against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Tipoff is set for 3:12 p.m. in a nod to UIC's area code in Chicago and
tickets are also available on Ticketmaster for the unbeatable price of $3.12 when using the promo code

The Flames (10-11, 4-4 Horizon League) played the first of four consecutive games at Credit Union 1 Arena on Thursday evening. Fueled by
Jordan Blount's first double-double of the season and three other players in double figures, UIC toppled Detroit Mercy, 79-67. Blount scored a team-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. In addition to defending one of the nation's leading scorers in Antoine Davis,
Marcus Ottey added 14 points, four rebounds and two steals for the Flames.
Godwin Boahen added 13 points and
Rob Howard chipped in with 11 as he made his sixth consecutive start.

Oakland (9-12, 5-3 Horizon League) suffered its first road loss in conference play on Thursday at IUPUI, 73-71.
Tray Maddox Jr. recorded a career high 21 points, four assists, and four 3-pointers against the Jaguars, while Xavier Hill-Mais posted the first double-double of his career behind 11 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
The Golden Grizzlies lead the Horizon League and rank seventh in the NCAA with 10.7 3-pointers per game, while UIC is second in the conference and 15
th overall with 10.4. One of the team's most talented long-range shooters,
Jaevin Cumberland, is the reigning Horizon League Player of the Week. Cumberland ranks fifth in the country with 75 3-pointers, four more than UIC's
Tarkus Ferguson, who ranks 10
th.
