@UICWBB Continues Homestand with Indiana State

Flames and Sycamores face off Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m.

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (0-4) continues its three-game homestand this week as it welcomes the Sycamores of Indiana State (1-2) to Credit Union 1 Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.

WITH A WIN, UIC WOULD:
  • Capture its first win of the season
  • Improve to 4-11 all-time against Indiana State
  • Win its first game at home
LAST TIME OUT
  • UIC fell 80-45 to in-state rival Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon in its home opener.
  • Tylah Lampley led the Flames with a season-high 14 points, while also bringing down five rebounds.
  • Jealissa Presswood also finished with personal-best points, tallying six points off a pair of threes.
  • Abreanna Lake made a career-high five steals in the loss.
SENIOR STATUS
  • Senior Tylah Lampley led the Flames on Saturday vs. Eastern Illinois with 14 points, her highest mark of the season so far.
  • She also tallied three blocks and made a team-high five rebounds.
  • The Homewood, Ill. native ranks third in the League in blocks, averaging 1.5 stops per game.
  • She also comes in at 23rd in the conference with an average of 1.3 steals per game.
FRESH FACES
  • Kimeira Burks leads UIC's six freshmen so far, averaging 6.3 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game.
  • Burks is also in a tie for the second-most steals on the squad with five.
  • Fellow freshman Tiana Jackson is averaging 5.3 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game, starting in all four of UIC's contests so far.
  • Jackson is leading the team in assists with eight, after handing out a personal-best four at Kansas (Nov. 10).
SIZING UP THE SYCAMORES       
  • Indiana State is off to a 1-2 start in 2019-20.
  • The Sycamores and Flames have already shared two similar opponents, despite the young season.
  • Indiana State has faced both Kansas and Eastern Illinois, falling to the Jayhawks before taking the edge over the Panthers, 59-57.
  • The Sycamores last contest was against Western Illinois. They fell 83-72.
  • Indiana State has two players averaging in double figures in Jasmine Elder (11.7 ppg) and Marie Hunter (10.0 ppg). LeAndra Echi handles the boards with an average of 7.7 rebounds per game to lead the squad. Hunter and Del'Janae Williams both have seven assists so far to lead the team in the category.
