Flames Return Home for Three-Game Homestand

UIC opens up its homestand Thursday (Nov. 21) against Robert Morris

CHICAGO -- UIC returns to Credit Union 1 Arena on Thursday, Nov. 21, as the Flames play host to Robert Morris. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3. Jonathan Hood and Chris Bleck will have the call of Thursday's action. Thursday's game against Robert Morris kicks off the first of two three-game homestands that the Flames will have this year. UIC will face Robert Morris, Mercer and Canisius in a span of six days during this homestand and will also face UC Irvine (Dec. 20), Cleveland State (Dec. 28) and Youngstown State (30) to close out 2019.

SERIES STUFF
• Thursday's contest is the first-ever meeting between the Flames and Colonials.
• Robert Morris enters the game 1-4 overall, picking up a 85-65 victory over Howard while dropping decision to Toldeo, Pittsbugh, Notre Dame and Marshall.
• Josh Williams and Yannis Mendy lead the Colonials in scoring, averaging 12.6 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.
• AJ Bramah controls the glass for Robert Morris, hauling in 8.2 rebounds per game.
• Williams leads all Northeast Conference players in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.33), while Mendy is first in field goal percentage (.650). 

DOUBLE TROUBLE
• Against Bradley on Nov. 16, junior Michael Diggins recorded his first-career double-double for the Flames.
• The native of Las Vegas, Nevada paced the team in scoring and rebounding against the Braves, finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
• The 11 boards, nine of which came in the first half, are a career-high for Diggins, surpassing his previous high mark of seven.

CHARITY STRIPE LIFE
• Senior Godwin Boahen is 1-of-27 players in Division I basketball to have not missed a free throw this season (min. 2.5 made per game).
• Through four games, Boahen is a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line, tied for the 12th most made free throws among players with a perfect percentage from the charity stripe.
• Boahen's career free throw percentage of .788 ranks 10th all-time in program history.
