@UICWBB Wraps up Homestand with Florida State

UIC faces third Power Five opponent in five games

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (0-5) will wrap up its first homestand of the season on Saturday as it welcomes 12th-ranked Florida State (4-0) to the Credit Union 1 Arena on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 12 p.m. CT. The Seminoles will serve as UIC's third Power Five opponent in the last five games, after facing Big-12 foes Kansas and Kansas State earlier this month.

LAST TIME OUT
  • UIC was handed a 61-40 loss at home on Tuesday against Indiana State.
  • Lampley led all scorers for the second-straight game with a season-high 14 points.
  • Kimeira Burks became the first freshman to reach double digits, tallying a personal-best 11 points and nearly double-doubling with a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Burks also contributed four steals on defense and made a pair of blocks.

SENIOR STATUS
  • UIC's lone senior Tylah Lampley has served as UIC's top scorer in three of its five games so far.
  • Lampley led the Flames vs. Eastern Illinois (Nov. 16) with 14 points, her highest mark of the season so far. She also tallied three blocks and made a team-high five rebounds.
  • The senior matched her season high on Tuesday (Nov. 19) against Indiana State, once again leading the squad with 14 points. Lampley also tacked on seven rebounds and made a pair of blocks.
  • The Homewood, Ill. native is second in the League in blocks, averaging 1.6 stops per game. She also comes in at 23rd in the conference with an average of 1.2 steals per game.
KIM3IRA BURKS
  • Freshman Kimeira Burks has led the newcomers so far, becoming the first freshman to reach double digits with 11 points on Tuesday (Nov. 19) against Indiana State.
  • Burks finished 3-of-5 beyond the arc against the Sycamores, her best showing from downtown so far.
  • The freshman ranks second in both three-point attempts (23) and makes (5).
  • Burks is also the team's runner-up in field goal makes (14) and rebounds (23).
  • The Chicago native leads the team in attempts (52) as well as steals (9).

  • UIC will return to the road for its next two contests.
  • The Flames will face Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday, No. 19. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CT.
