CHICAGO -- The UIC men's basketball team dropped its final game of the 2019 calendar year Monday (Dec. 30) evening, falling to Youngstown State, 70-64, inside Credit Union 1 Arena.

First Half Highlights
  • Off the tip, Bridges scored in the paint to put UIC on the board, 2-0. Bridges would continue to produce for the Flames with another layup following five consecutive points from YSU.
  • A 3-pointer from Travell Washington would start a 7-0 run for UIC, which would end up being the Flames' largest run in the first half. A steal by Boahen led to layup, which put the Flames back in front. Boahen proceeded to make another layup to add the lead, 18-15, with 10:05 left in the half.
  • With 3:08 left in the first half, following an 8-0 run by the Penguins, Marcus Ottey made a layup which would begin a 6-0 Flames run.

  • Wiley's shot under the basket ended the Penguins' 7-0 run at 42-32. Wiley would later go on to start the largest scoring run (8-0) of the night for the Flames with a layup while completing the old-fashioned 3-point play. It was followed up with a jumper by Boahen, a layup and free throw from Ferguson to trim the deficit to just three points at 45-42 with 10:41 to play.
