CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (3-21, 1-12 HL) will begin its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, starting with Detroit Mercy (3-20, 1-11 HL) on Thursday. The Flames and Titans are set to tipoff at 6 p.m. CT inside Detroit Mercy's Calihan Hall.
Starting Five
- Senior Catera Etheridge had a standout weekend last week against Cleveland State and Youngstown State, recording double-digit scoring efforts in both games for the Flames. On Friday against the Vikings, Etheridge tallied 10 points, including a perfect 4-of-4 performance from the free-throw line. The senior also recorded four rebounds and three assists versus Cleveland State. On Sunday against Youngstown State, Etheridge one-upped herself, pulling in a career-high 18 points to go with three rebounds.
- Kienya Jones leads the Flames and ranks eighth in the Horizon League in shooting, making 50.6 percent of her shots. The senior has been adding offensive value as of late, averaging 11.3 points per game in UIC's last four contests.
- Tylah Lampley was back in double figures on Sunday against the Penguins, coming off the bench and contributing 14 points for her fourth double-digit outing of the season.
- Brittany Byrd collected 15 points against Youngstown State, bringing her career point total up to 1,087. The senior now ranks 17th on UIC's all-time scoring list.
- UIC had three players in double figures in both its games last weekend, as Jones (14), Thompson (11) and Etheridge (10) led against Cleveland State, while Etheridge (18), Byrd (15) and Lampley (14) were the leaders against Youngstown State. The Flames have had three players score in double-digits on nine occasions this year.

- Detroit Mercy is looking to stop a seven-game losing streak, with their last win coming against the Flames back on Jan. 13.
- The Titans have a similar 3-20 overall record and a 1-11 mark in conference, ranking just one spot ahead of UIC in the Horizon League standings.
- Detroit's defense is tied for seventh in the conference in blocked shots, averaging 2.80 stops per game. The Titans are also fourth in steals, just ahead of the Flames, averaging 8.20 swipes per contest.
- Zoey Oatis leads the offense with 9.2 points per game, and is followed closely by teammate Brittney Jackson averaging 9.1 points per game. Ashley Miller averages 5.0 rebounds per game to lead the Titans in the category, while Jackson leads the way in assists, handing out an average of 2.4 helpers per game.
- The Titans have a 30-24 advantage all-time against the Flames, taking the last three meetings between the two teams.
