GRIFFITH, Ind. – The UIC women's tennis team (3-4) got back into the win column on Saturday with a 6-1 road victory over Valparaiso (1-4). The Flames secured the doubles point and took five singles victories in the win.
Doubles Highlights
Lejla Colic and
Lucie Prochazkova paired up at No. 2 to sweep Randi Wind and Jordan Kopfer, 6-0.
Karyna Bihel and
Rachel Le Comber were edged in the No. 1 match, 6-4, by Claire Czerwonka and Isabella Schoolcraft, and the No. 3 match went to
Georgia Gulin and
Nell Arendt by forfeit.
Singles Highlights
Nell Arendt bested Wind 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 to open up doubles.
Viktoria Seifert topped Kopfer at No. 4 in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, and Gulin rallied after dropping the first set 6-2 to take the next two, 6-2, 10-6.
Lejla Colic took set one in the No. 1 match against Czerwonka, 6-2, but dropped the next two 6-4, 10-6. The No. 5 and No. 6 matches went to UIC by forfeit.
