KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The UIC women's tennis team (9-4) won its seventh-straight match in comeback style, defeating Western Michigan (8-7) by a final tally of 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at West Hills Athletic Club. After losing the doubles point and the first match of singles, the Flames fought to a 3-3 tie, setting the stage for
Karyna Bihel, who rallied after dropping set one to take the next two and pull off the win for UIC.

Western Michigan's Melina Lyubomirova and Femke Tjon-A-Joe defeated
Lucie Prochazkova and Georgie Sander at No. 2, 6-1, and
Lejla Colic paired off with
Georgia Gulin for a 6-4 loss at No. 3 to Denis Azcui and Gabriela Slavova. The No. 1 match featuring

Rachel Le Comber and Katja Fevralev/Kristina Tiraspolsky went unfinished after the Broncos clinch.
Singles Highlights
Prochazkova was bested by Fevralev at No. 3, 6-1, 6-4 to put Western Michigan ahead 2-0, but
Rachel Le Comber got the Flames a point at No. 5, 6-3, 6-2.
Nell Arendt evened things out at No. 6 with her sixth-straight singles win, 6-2, 6-4, and
Lejla Colic bounced back at No. 1 after dropping the first set 6-3 to take the next two, 6-2, 6-2. Tjon-A-Joe put away Sanders at No. 4 to bring the match to a draw, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, but Bihel's big win at No. 2 ended the match in favor of Flames. After a 6-2 loss in the first set, Bihel battled through set two, 7-6 (1) to tie it and held off Azcui in set three, 6-4 for the victory.
