CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (3-26, 1-17 HL) finished out the 2018-19 season on Saturday with a 77-53 loss to Green Bay (20-8, 15-3 HL). Senior
Brittany Byrd double-doubled in her last game wearing a Flames uniform, leading the team with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

First Half Highlights
- The Phoenix broke open the game with a 12-2 run, forcing a pair of turnovers on the Flames in the first four minutes. Catera Etheridge made one from downtown to end 10-straight points for Green Bay, 12-5.
- The Phoenix rattled off another 10 unanswered points before Kiarra Thompson put a stop to the streak with another Flames three, 24-8.
- Brittany Byrd jumped around the defenders to drive in a layup in the final seconds of the first quarter, but the Flames found themselves in 26-10 hole after the first period.
- Tylah Lampley became the third player to make a shot beyond the arc for UIC at the 7:05 mark in the second frame, and after a trio of free throws and a Jasmine Gaines steal returned for two the Flames had eight-straight points, 31-20.
- Green Bay responded with eight points of their own to restore its lead, 39-20.
- UIC ended the first half making four of their six attempts while holding Green Bay without a field goal over the last 2:39, but the Flames still trailed by 11 at halftime, 45-34.
Second Half Highlights
- The Phoenix broke the spell 42 seconds in to the second half with a jumper, but neither team scored again in the next two minutes. Green Bay laid one up with seven minutes on the clock and Thompson followed a little over a minute later for UIC's first score of the second half, 49-36.
- A six-point run for the Phoenix pushed their lead past 20, 60-41, but a late jumper from Etheridge spoiled the run, 60-43.
- The Phoenix put the Flames to bed in the fourth, outscoring UIC 17-10 in the final ten minutes to take the 77-53 win.
Facts & Figures
- Tylah Lampley joined Byrd in double figures, tallying 12 points for her eighth double-digit effort of the season. Lampley also contributed four rebounds, one steal and one block.
- Byrd's double-double was her fourth of the season.
- Catera Etheridge was near double figures with nine points.
- Kiarra Thompson finished with six points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Flames.
- Abreanna Lake, Jada Nneji and Jasmine Gaines all finished with four points. Lake also added three assists for UIC's offense.
- The Flames finished the game making 36.5 percent of their shots, while Green Bay made 48.3 percent. The Phoenix also poured in 40.6 percent beyond the arc, compared to 27.3 percent for UIC.
- UIC was at its best from the free-throw line, making 90 percent (9-of-10) of their shots taken from the charity stripe.
- Green Bay outrebounded the Flames 40-24. They also had double the assists, 24-12.
- The Phoenix netted 19 points off UIC's 17 miscues. The Flames gained 11 from 15 Green Bay turnovers.
- Green Bay held the edge in the paint, 26-20. The Phoenix bench also held the advantage, 26-8. UIC tallied more off the fast break, 15-7, but Green Bay put up more on the second chance, 17-2.
