UIC Faces Green Bay & Milwaukee in Final Home Weekend

Flames will honor seniors prior to Saturday’s match

CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (15-4, 5-0 HL) brings its 13-match win streak back home one last time this weekend, hosting Green Bay (3-13, 0-6 HL) and Milwaukee (11-8, 4-2 HL). The Flames will face the Phoenix on Saturday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m. CT out on the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts before hosting the Panthers on Sunday, April 14 inside Match Point Tennis in Griffith, Ind. at 10 a.m.

UIC will be honoring seniors Rachel Le Comber, Georgie Sanders and Viktoria Seifert prior to Saturday's match against Green Bay.

The Flames swept IUPUI 7-0 last Saturday (April 6) to secure their 13th-straight victory. After dropping the first doubles match, UIC took the next two for the doubles point. In singles, the Flames took all six matches, five by way of straight sets, to take the sweeping win.

UIC boasts a 75-37 record in singles action this dual season, with an impressive 25-5 mark against Horizon League opponents. In doubles the Flames are 31-18 on the season, dropping a mere three matches against conference foes (10-3).

Le Comber leads UIC with 12 wins, and her 76 career wins puts her just two victories away from seventh all-time. The senior owns a perfect 5-0 record in Horizon League action, winning her last 11 matches consecutively.

Lucie Prochazkova is also a perfect 5-0 in conference, while Lejla Colic and Sanders follow closely with a 4-1 record in Horizon League play. In doubles, seniors Sanders and Seifert lead the way with a 4-1 mark in Horizon League action.

Green Bay is 3-13 on the season, seeking their first conference win of the season. Last weekend the Phoenix were handed a pair of 6-1 losses by Horizon League foes Wright State and Northern Kentucky.

Milwaukee owns an 11-8 record with a 4-2 mark in Horizon League play. The Panthers edged out Wright State and Northern Kentucky last weekend, holding on for a pair of 4-3 wins.

UIC will close out the regular season on the road next week with defending champion Youngstown State and Cleveland State.
