BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Two of the youngest players on UIC's squad stepped up to lead the Flames at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational which wrapped up on Sunday at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. Freshman

Stephanie Mroz was one shot behind. As a team, UIC shot 75-over par, 651, to finish ninth overall.
"We didn't play as well as we would have liked," said UIC head coach
Mat Blair. "We had some adversity and didn't do a great job responding yesterday. We did a few really good things throughout the tournament, but we also did some bad things around the course. We've made good notes of what we need to work on over the next two weeks to get going in the right direction as we prepare for the conference tournament in Florida."
Montalone posted her lowest collegiate round on Sunday, shooting 3-over par 75. She began the final round in a tie for 54
th place and she jumped 22 spots to finish tied for 35
th, tops among the Flames. She made two birdies on Sunday to finish with a team-high three during the tournament. The Westfield, Ind., native's 36-hole total of 15-over par, 159, is also her best two-round score as a collegian.
Mroz finished one stroke behind Montalone at 16-over par, 160. She followed up a 79 on Saturday by shooting 9-over par, 81, in the final round. Mroz led the Flames with 21 pars in 36 holes at Stone Ridge.
