Flames Set for Intercity Showdown

UIC plays host to DePaul on Tuesday, Sept. 17

CHICAGO -- UIC prepares for an intercity showdown on Tuesday as DePaul comes to Flames Field.
 
The Flames sit at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Horizon League play while the Blue Demons enter the match 3-2 in 2019.
 
Tuesday's match concludes a season long four-match homestand and will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the contest can also be watched on ESPN+.
 
Last Time Out
  • UIC opened Horizon League play with a 2-0 victory over Green Bay Saturday evening.
  • The Flames won their 16th consecutive home match, dating back to 2017, with the result.
  • Jacob Graiber netted his first goal of the season in the 20th minute, assisted by Jesus Perez.
  • Roberto Alonzo doubled the lead in the 76th minute after Bar Hazut's shot was deflected away by the goalie right to the foot of Alonzo

  • Hazut is first in the Horizon League in points and goals and Perez is fourth in points.
  • Vasilas' shutout streak currently sits at 198:47. He leagues the league in save percentage (.818) and ranks second in goals against average (.769).
 
Scouting the Blue Demons
  • DePaul fell to 3-2 following a 4-2 defeat to Loyola last time out.
  • The Blue Devils are led by Max De Bruijne, who has tallied six points (two goals, two assists) this year.
  • Six different players have scored goals for DePaul this season. De Bruijne and David Gripman lead the way with two each.
  • Jake Fruderer has a team-leading three assists.
