CHICAGO --Â UIC begins a three-game roadtrip Saturday evening as the Flames take on Detroit Mercy in Horizon League play.

The Flames sit at 5-1 overall and 1-0 in Horizon League play while the Titans are 2-4 on the year and 0-1 in conference play following a 1-0 loss to Milwaukee in their league opener.

"Detroit Mercy is always a difficult team to play against, especially at their place," said head coach
Sean Phillips. "It'll be a test for our players to try to come out of there with three points."

Saturday's contest will begin at 6 p.m. (CT) and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
- UIC won its 17th consecutive home contest with a 4-1 victory over DePaul on Tuesday.
- Bar Hazut put UIC up in the 18th minute and, following a DePaul goal in the 63rd minute, added a second goal in the 69th minute.
- Bukola Abdulwahab scored less than a minute later, netting his first goal of the season.
- Roberto Alonzo added his second goal in as many games in the 84th minute.
- Jesus Perez and Cristian Sanchez each recorded a pair of assists in the game.

Flames to Watch
- Hazut is tied for first nationally with seven goals on the year, one of seven players in Division I with seven goals. His 15 points are tied for fifth nationally. He leads the Horizion League in both categories.
- Perez is tied for fifth nationally with five assists on the year, tops in the Horizon league. His nine points are tied for second in the conference.
- Hazut is first in the Horizon League in points and goals and Perez is fourth in points.
- Vasilas is second in the league in goals against average (.806), while his two shutouts are tied for the most among Horizon League netminders.
Scouting the Titans
- Detroit Mercy is 2-4 on the year and 0-1 in Horizon League play. The Titans dropped a 1-0 decision to Milwaukee in their conference opener before falling, 5-0, to Dayton last time out.
- Kyle Bandyk leads the Detroit Mercy attack with four points on the year behind a goal and two assists.
- Five different players have a goal this year while Collin Cavanaugh shares the team lead in assists with two.
- Devin Mendez has played every minute in goal, allowing an average of 2.8 goals per game.
