CHICAGO -- The UIC men's soccer team makes the quick trip to Evanston Tuesday evening to face the Northwestern Wildcats.
UIC is 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Horizon League play following a come-from-behind victory at Detroit Mercy. The Flames evened the score at 1-all with 23 seconds in regulation and then netted the game-winner four minutes into the extra period.
Northwestern is 4-3 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play following an upset of No. 25 Maryland last time out.
Tuesday's match is set for 7 p.m. at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.
Last Time Out
- Seconds away from defeat, UIC stormed back to stun Detroit Mercy, 2-1, in overtime.
- With 23 seconds remaining in regulation, Eduardo Garcia served a ball into the box. The service found the head of Jacob Graiber, who buried it into the back of the net, forcing the match to overtime.
- In the extra period, Jose Perez Flores took a free kick and sent his attempt into the box. It was another header, this time by Pau Mateo in the 94th minute of play, that gave the Flames the 2-1 win.
- Sokratis Vasilas recorded three saves in the victory for UIC.

- Bar Hazut eighth in the country with 15 points and fifth nationally with seven goals. Both totals lead all Horizon League players.
- Jesus Perez leads the conference and ranks seventh nationally with five assists.
- Four different players, Hazut, Perez, Graiber and Roberto Alonzo have multiple goals this year.
- Vasilas leads the league in goals against average (.829) and ranks second in save percentage (.786).
Scouting the Wildcats
- Bardia Kimiavi leads Northwestern in goals (3), assists (2) and points (8).
- Matt Moderwell has two goals this year and three other Wildcats have found the back of the net once.
- Miha Miskovic has allowed 1.3 goals per game and has registered one assist on the year.
