CHICAGO -- The UIC men's basketball team continues it's season-long five-game roadtrip with a pair of contests in Michigan, beginning with a Thursday, Jan. 23 contest at Oakland. Tip is set for 6 p.m. (CT).
3 POINT PLAY
•   UIC picked up its second consecutive Horizon League victory with a 75-66 road win over IUPUI on Jan. 18.
Tarkus Ferguson nearly tallied a triple-double finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds ands nine assists, all team highs. He was one of five Flames in double figure, joined by
Jordan Blount (14),
Marcus Ottey (13),
Godwin Boahen (10) and
Jamie Ahale (10).
•   The Flames lead the conference in blocked shots per game with 4.1, while their 82 total blocks ranks second in the league. UIC's 82 blocks this year rank 53rd nationally.

Tarkus Ferguson is one of two active players in Division I basketball with at least 1,400 career points, 600 career rebounds and 500 career assists. He is joined by Merrimack's Juvaris Hayes.
SERIES STUFF
•   Thursday's meeting between the Grizzlies and the Flames will be the 18th all-time meeting between the two schools and the 15th since UIC moved to DI status. The Flames will be looking for their third win all-time against Oakland.
•   The Grizzlies swept the season series a year ago, picking up an 80-67 win in Chicago on Jan. 26 and a 86-72 decision in Rochester on Feb. 28.
•   Xavier Hill-Mais leads Oakland in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
•   Long-time head coach Greg Kampe is in his 36th season at the helm of Oakland, having accumulated a record of 625-468 in his tenure.
ROAD WARRIORS
•   UIC is in the middle of a season-long five game roadtrip. UIC will not return to Credit Union 1 Arena until a Feb. 6 contest against Milwaukee.
•   The Flames will end the season playing five of their final seven games in the comforts of their home arena.
BACK-TO-BACK
•   UIC picked up it's second consecutive victory in Horizon League play, and first true road win of the year, with a 75-66 win at IUPUI on Jan. 18.
•   It was the second time this season, and second in as many games, in which five Flames scored in double figures.
•   UIC's defense limited IUPUI to just 33.3% shooting, the second-lowest shooting percentage by an opponent this year.
•   The Flames blocked seven shots in the contest, the second-most in a single game this year (10 vs. Robert Morris - Nov. 21).
TEAM REBOUNDING
•   UIC has employed a team rebounding effort this year, as no player averages more than six rebounds per contest and five different players average at least four boards per game.
