Box Score CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (3-1) picked up its third-straight win of the dual season on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 4-1 win over former Horizon League-member Valparaiso (3-4). The Flames grabbed the doubles point and then took three of the first four singles matches in straight sets to clinch the win over the Crusaders.
Doubles Highlights
Izzy Marshall paired up with
Karyna Bihel at No. 1 for a 6-4 victory over Claire Czerwonka and Oliva Czerwonka.
Nell Arendt and
Lucie Prochazkova teamed up to take down Demi Jhaveri and Isabella Schoolcraft at No. 2, 6-2. The No. 3 match featuring
Lejla Colic and
Marina Hermanny de Figueiredo and Valparaiso's Amanda Tabanera and Dao Sysouvanh went unfinished at the 5-2 mark.
Singles Highlights
Lucie Prochazkova retired down 4-1 in the No. 3 match to Amanda Tabanera, but the Flames picked up the next three.
Karyna Bihel took care of Olivia Czerwonka in straight sets at No. 2, 6-2, 6-0 and
Izzy Marshall topped Isabella Schoolcraft in the No. 4 match, 6-2, 7-5.
Nell Arendt clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 over Dao Sysouvanh. The No. 1 and No. 5 matches both went unfinished.
