AUBURN, Ala. – The eighth-ranked Auburn offense proved to be too much for the UIC baseball team Sunday afternoon at Plainsman Park, as the Flames fell, 14-0, in seven innings.
Â
UIC received base hits from
Ryan Lin-Peistrup,
Alex Dee,
Joshua Figueroa and
Garrett McCarthy, but were unable to mount any serious threats. The game was decided in the fourth inning behind an 11-run frame for the Tigers.
Â
The Flames remain on the road next weekend, traveling to Nashville to take on the preseason No. 1 team in the country, and reigning national champions, Vanderbilt.

- Auburn pulled away in the bottom of the fourth after plating 11 runs on seven hits. The Tigers tacked on runs in the sixth and seventh to end the scoring.
