Flames Take on Milwaukee in Home Finale

UIC challenges Panthers Sunday at 2 p.m. CT

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (3-24, 2-14 HL) will close out its home schedule on Sunday, Feb. 23, taking on Milwaukee (11-15, 8-7 HL). Sunday's contest will be UIC's annual Pink Game and the Flames will also be honoring senior Tylah Lampley prior to tipoff at 2 p.m. CT.

WITH A WIN, UIC WOULD:
  • Improve to 4-24 on the season
  • Win its third Horizon League game of the season
  • Improve to 22-38 all-time against Milwaukee
  • Snap an eight-game losing streak against the Panthers
  • Win its third home game of the year
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Flames played in front of a crowd of over 2,200 people from 21 different groups as part of its School Day Outing, taking a 75-49 loss to Green Bay.
  • Jada Nneji finished with her 13 double-digit performance of the season with a team-high 13 points. She also added six rebounds.
  • Shelby Case took home a career-high nine points. Kimeira Burks also finished with nine points.
  • Jealissa Presswood matched her own career high with eight rebounds.
  • Tiana Jackson tied her career high assists with five and was one rebound shy of her personal best with seven.
NNEJI'S BLOCK PARTY
  • Junior Jada Nneji's ranks fifth place all-time at UIC with 139 career blocks. She is now just one blocks away from the fourth-place spot.
  • The 2018-19 Horizon League All-Defensive Team honoree is averaging 2.2 blocks per game this season to lead the Horizon League and rank 26th nationwide.
  • Nneji is the lone Flame to average in double figures, scoring an average of 10.5 points per game to rank 16th in the Horizon League. She leads the team with 13 double-digit scoring performances so far this season.
  • Nneji has four double-doubles this season, most recently picking one up at both Oakland (10 pts, 11 rebs) and Detroit Mercy (18 pts, 15 rebs) Feb. 6-8.
  • Nneji leads the squad and ranks seventh in the League in rebounds, averaging 7.3 boards per game. She owns six double-digit rebounding performances, vs. Florida State (Nov. 23), vs. Western Michigan (Dec. 8), vs. Eastern Michigan (Dec. 18), vs. Wright State (Jan. 9), at Oakland (Feb. 6) and at Detroit Mercy (Feb. 8).
  • Nneji has made two or more stops in 14 appearances, including a season-high six on Feb. 6 at Oakland.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
  • Milwaukee was dealt a 60-53 loss to Horizon League regular season champion IUPUI on Friday night.
  • The Panthers rank third in the League in three-point makes per game, averaging 6.6 threes per contest.
  • They also come in fourth in three-point field goal percentage, sinking 31.1 percent of their shots beyond the arc.
  • Brandi Bisping paces the squad and ranks 19th in the conference in points with an average of 9.7 points per game. Bisping also leads the League at the charity stripe, making 89.8 of her shots from the line.
  • Lizzie Odegard is 12th in the Horizon League in rebounding, averaging 6.4 boards per game to lead the Panthers.
  • Mckaela Schmelzer owns an average of 2.4 assists per game, putting her at 13th in the League.
  • Milwaukee leads the all-time series, 38-21. The Panthers came out victorious in this season's earlier meeting, 71-55.
