CHICAGO -- The UIC men's basketball team begins its final weekend of regular season play this Thursday (Feb. 27) against Detroit Mercy. The game kicks off two straight home games for the Flames to close out the Horizon League schedule. Tipoff inside Credit Union 1 Arena is set for 7 p.m.

3 POINT PLAY
• UIC earned a season sweep of IUPUI on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon, defeating the Jaguars, 77-72. Four Flames scored in double figures, led by Marcus Ottey's 16 points, while Jordan Blount added a season-high 14 rebounds for the Flames.
• The Flames lead the conference in blocked shots per game with 4.1 and total blocks with 118. UIC's 115 blocks this year rank 56th nationally. The Flames rank 53rd in the country with 412 assists on the year.
• Tarkus Ferguson is just the fourth Division I player since 1992-93 to have 1,500 points, 700 assists and 600 rebounds in a career.

SERIES STUFF
• UIC is looking to avenge a 70-69 heartbreaking defeat to Detroit Mercy back on Jan. 25. The Titans' Alone LeGrand hit a baseline jumper as time expired to give Detroit Mercy the one-point victory.
• Braelen Bridges scored a team-high 18 points and nearly recorded a double-double with nine rebounds. Godwin Boahen scored 12 points while Marcus Ottey added 11 points.
• Detroit Mercy enters Thursday's contest 7-22 overall and 5-11 in Horizon League play.
• Antoine Davis paces the Horizon League in scoring, as his 23.6 points per game rank fifth nationally.

ROAD BLOWOUTS
• UIC has two 30-point road wins this year, both coming in conference play. The Flames defeated Oakland, 80-50, on Jan. 23 and Northern Kentucky, 73-43, on Feb. 16.
• UIC is one of four DI programs with two 30-point road wins this year and just one of two schools (Gonzaga) with two 30-point road wins in conference play.
• Gonzaga leads the country with three 30-point road wins this year, while UIC, Furman and Louisiana Tech all have two road wins by such a margin.

FLAMES LOCK DOWN NORSE
• UIC's defense smothered Northern Kentucky en route to a 73-43 road win on Feb. 16.
• The 43 points allowed by UIC were the third-fewest in the Flames' 39-year history of DI competition, while the 43 points are tied for the seventh-fewest scored by a Division I home team in any game this season.
• The Flames limited Northern Kentucky to just 22.0% shooting, the third-worst shooting performance by a DI home team this year and the lowest allowed by UIC in any game since at least the 2010-11 season.

70 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
• When UIC has scored 70 or more points in a game, it has usually resulted in a positive outcome.
• The Flames are 12-2 on the year when scoring 70 or more points, including a 9-2 mark when scoring between 70-79 points.
• UIC has won its last seven games, and nine of its last 10, when reaching the 70-point mark, including a 77-72 win over IUPUI Saturday.
• The Flames scored a season-high 90 points in its 90-83 overtime victory at Youngstown State on Jan. 30.
