CHICAGO – All 10 Horizon League men's basketball teams have just one game remaining in the regular season and nearly every seed for the upcoming Horizon League Basketball Championships remains on the line. Wright State and Northern Kentucky battle on Friday with the winner earning the No. 1 seed, while UIC and Green Bay, who play next on Saturday against Oakland and Cleveland State, respectively, are tied for third place with records of 10-7. The Flames and Phoenix are looking to secure the No. 3 seed and a bye into the quarterfinals.
UIC earned its 10
th conference win by
knocking off Detroit Mercy at Credit Union 1 Arena on Thursday night, 84-67. The Flames have now won 10 or more conference games for the third year in a row, marking the first stretch of three-straight 10-win seasons in conference play in program history. Green Bay, meanwhile, fought off a late surge from Youngstown State to win at home, 102-92.
Youngstown State sits a game behind UIC and Green Bay at 9-8. Cleveland State's road win over Milwaukee Thursday coupled with IUPUI's victory against Oakland creates a three-way tie for the sixth place and the final first round home game.
The Horizon League Tuesday announced an updated 9-team bracket for the 2020 Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship due to the NCAA's recent decision regarding Detroit Mercy's postseason eligibility. To view the updated bracket, please click

The tournament begins with three first-round games on Tuesday, March 3 before two quarterfinal matchups take place on Thursday, March 5. Those five games will be held at campus sites. The semifinals and championship are slated to take place on March 9 and 10, respectively, at Indiana Farmer's Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Horizon League Tournament Seeding/Scheduling
The top two seeds for the upcoming Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship have been secured with Wright State and Northern Kentucky already earning the opportunity to advance directly to the semifinals in Indianapolis on Monday, March 9.Â
The remaining seven eligible teams in the Horizon League will vie for the final two semifinal spots. The team that secures the third seed will receive a first-round bye and host a quarterfinal game on Thursday, March 5. Teams that finish fourth, fifth and sixth in the final conference standings will host a first-round tournament game on Tuesday, March 3. With its win last night over Detroit Mercy and losses by Milwaukee and Oakland, the Flames are guaranteed to finish in the League's top four. In doing so, UIC secures the possibility a first-round home game at Credit Union 1 Arena on March 3 at 7 p.m.
Following the first-round games on March 3, the advancing teams will play quarterfinal games on Thursday, March 5, with the two highest remaining seeds playing at home. In the event that UIC were to advance and host a quarterfinal game on March 5, the contest would be played at Gentile Arena on the campus of Loyola University Chicago due to previously scheduled event at Credit Union 1 Arena that day. Tipoff in Rogers Park would be set for 7 p.m.Â
