CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (1-1) will host city rival Chicago State (0-3) on Thursday, Feb. 6 in its first home match of the season. The Flames and Cougars will be competing at H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood, Ill. will first serve set for 10 a.m. CT.
UIC took home its first win of the season in short-handed fashion on Sunday (Feb. 2), defeating in-state rival Illinois State, 4-3. The Flames won the doubles point and quickly grabbed three singles wins to take home the victory, despite being down one player.

Izzy Marshall were crowned Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week after clinching the doubles point for the Flames with a 7-5 win over Tara Damnjanovic and Natalia Bravo at No. 1.
Chicago State is seeking its first win of the season after starting off with losses to Saint Louis (4-3), SIUE (6-1) and Illinois State (7-0). UIC is 6-5 all-time against the Cougars, winning last year's meeting between the two teams by a final tally of 5-2.
