CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (7-2) will wrap up its stretch of four matches in six days, hosting Northern Illinois (12-5) on Wednesday, March 11 before traveling to Milwaukee, Wis. to face Cardinal Stritch (1-5) on Friday, March 13.
First serve against the Huskies is set for 10:30 a.m. CT at XS Tennis, while Friday's match with the Wolves will begin at 11 a.m. at North Shore Elite.
The Flames won their fourth-straight match on Sunday, shutting out Omaha, 4-0. The Flames dominated doubles and took three consecutive straight-set wins in singles to put the Mavericks to bed.
UIC is 26-19 in dual matches this season.
Izzy Marshall and
Karyna Bihel combine for half of those wins, led by Marshall's 7-1 record. In doubles the Flames are 14-9, paced by a 7-1 record from
Lucie Prochazkova.
Northern Illinois has also won its last four matches, most recently defeating both Binghampton University and St. Bonaventure University on Friday (March 6) by a 6-1 tally. The Flames are 19-9 all-time against NIU after shutting out the Huskies 7-0 last season.
Cardinal Stritch was dealt a 6-1 loss on Friday by Carnegie Mellon, falling to 1-5 on the season. UIC has won both meetings all-time between the Flames and the Wolves, winning last season's matchup, 7-0.
UIC will kick off Horizon League action at Oakland on Sunday, March 22.
