INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A trio of UIC student-athletes were named to the Horizon League Track & Field All-Academic Teams, as Sean Barber, Martin Skucas and Natalie Jaramillo were recognized by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives.

Barber and Skucas are both receiving the recognition for the second time in their career while Jaramillo collects the honor of the first time.

Barber, a senior majoring in computer science, has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll all five eligible semesters, and was named to the 2019 #HLTF All-Academic Team for the outdoor season. Barber was a member of the DMR team that ran a season-best time of 10:22.43 to place fourth at the Horizon League Indoor Championships held earlier this month. The native of Ogden, Illinois, also ran a season-best time in the 400m at the conference meet, posting a time of 52.25 which ranks as the 22nd fastest in the conference this season.

An economics major, Skucas earned his second All-Academic honor in as many seasons after collecting honors following the 2018-19 indoor season. The native of Orland Park, Illinois, has been named to the Academic Honor Roll in all three semesters that he has been eligible. At the conference meet, Skucas finished 17th in the men's 800m and 16th in the men's mile. The junior ran a season-best time in the 800 at the Alex Wilson Invitational (1:58.57) and posted a time of 4:26.21 in the mile at the GVSU Big Meet.

Jaramillo, a senior majoring in biological sciences, has been named to the Academic Honor Roll in all five eligible semesters. The distance runner finished seventh at the Horizon League Championships in the women's mile, posting a time of 5:11.67, while participating on the women's DMR team that finished second at the conference meet (12:15.25). Jaramillo's time in the mile at the conference meet is the 15th fastest in the league this year while her 18th-place finish in the women's 3,000m (1:32.63) was the 22nd-best time this year.
