CHICAGO – UIC head coach
Mike Dee announced Friday (Jan. 15) the baseball schedule for the upcoming 2021 season. The announcement comes in conjunction with the Horizon League's formal approval of conference schedules for all spring sports.

The Flames will look to open the 2021 season Feb. 19-21, with the opponent still to be determined. UIC will then hit the road to take on a pair of national powers in Texas Tech and Vanderbilt. The Flames will face the Red Raiders in Lubbock for a three-game series Feb. 26-28, with Texas Tech finishing the shortened 2020 season as a consensus top-5 team nationally. UIC will then travel to take on Vanderbilt for the second year in a row, with three games scheduled for March 5-7. The Commodores, the 2019 National Champions, finished the 2020 season ranked in the top 10 in every major poll.

UIC begins Horizon League play at home with eight-straight contests at Granderson Stadium. The Flames will play host to Milwaukee (March 12-14) and Wright State (March 19-21) in a pair of four-game series, as all Horizon League series this year will feature four games.

Back-to-back road trips will follow, with the Flames heading on the road to take on Oakland (March 26-28) and Youngstown State (April 1-3). UIC will then return home to face Northern Kentucky (April 9-11) before Horizon League newcomer Purdue Fort Wayne comes to Chicago April 16-18.

After a trip to Milwaukee to face the Panthers for a second time this season, UIC will cap off its home schedule April 30-May 2 with its second series against the Penguins of Youngstown State.

The Flames conclude the 2021 regular season with series at Purdue Fort Wayne (May 14-16 and Northern Kentucky (May 21-23).
