@UIC_WTEN Prepares to Face Bradley and Eastern Michigan

Flames will square off with the Braves on Friday; the Eagles on Saturday

CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (1-2) will wrap up its season-opening road series this weekend with a trip to Peoria, Ill. to face Bradley (0-1) and Eastern Michigan (2-2). The Flames will first face the Braves on Friday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. CT before finishing out the weekend facing the Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played inside The Clubs at River City in Peoria.

The Flames split their weekend in Ohio last week, falling 5-2 to Xavier on Friday (Feb. 5) before picking up their first win of the season on Saturday (Feb. 6) with a 6-1 victory over Dayton. Georgia Gulin picked up a pair of straight-set wins at No. 5 for the Flames, earning her the team's first Horizon League Singles Player of the Week award of the season.

Bradley kicked off its dual season on Jan. 31 with a 5-2 loss to DePaul. Bozana Lojpur's three-set win at No. 2 singles highlighted the Braves' efforts against the Blue Demons, while Nikki Perlwitz also picked up another point for Bradley with a win at No. 6. The Flames are 6-11 all-time against the Braves after taking a 5-2 win over Bradley last season when the two teams met on March 7.

Eastern Michigan has split its first four matches, and has also most recently faced Dayton and Xavier, defeating the Flyers 4-3 on Friday before a tough 7-0 loss to Xavier on Saturday. The Eagles have the advantage in the all-time series against the Flames, 8-4. Saturday's match will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2015.

Following its matches this weekend, the Flames will return to Chicago for their home debut against North Dakota on Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.
