Flames and Fighting Hawks will meet Friday at 10 a.m. CT

CHICAGO – After starting the season with five-straight road matches, the UIC women's tennis team (3-2) will finally be returning home to Chicago to make their home debut on Friday, Feb. 19, when it hosts North Dakota (1-3) at XS Tennis. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT.

The Flames closed out their season-opening road stint with a pair of wins last weekend, taking down Bradley 6-1 on Friday (Feb. 12) before finishing the weekend with a 4-2 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday (Feb. 13).

UIC swept the Horizon League weekly awards this week, as Lucie Prochazkova picked up the second-straight Singles Player of the Week for the Flames, while Nell Arendt and Agnes Gustafsson paired up to earn UIC's first Doubles Team of the Week award of the season.

The Flames are 18-11 overall in singles matches so far this season, and 7-5 on the season so far in doubles matches. Georgia Gulin leads UIC with a perfect 5-0 record in singles action, followed by Prochazkova at 4-1.

North Dakota is 1-3 on the season so far after outlasting Drake on Jan. 31, 4-3, to pick up their first win of the season. The Flames were victorious in the only other meeting between the two teams all-time, taking a 6-1 win back on Feb. 9, 2013.

After Friday's contest with the Fighting Hawks, the Flames will continue their five-match homestand with Chicago State on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
