UIC shook up its lineup in both singles and doubles play against North Dakota Friday afternoon.  The reshuffling brought energy and close matches, but the Flames fell to the Fighting Hawks, 7-0.

"We battled, but we need to be able to close out points," Hans Neufeld said.  "We had our chances but our service games have to improve."

Three matches went to a third set and multiple times, North Dakota rallied to win.  The Flames will return to action in a week's time.

Doubles Results

• All three doubles teams were brand new pairings.  Artem Iermolov and Anthony Nguyen teamed up at #3, falling 6-4.
• Luiz Dos Santos, who had been on the #1 doubles team all year, moved down to #2 alongside Gustavo Schwebel.  They also went down by a 6-4 score.
• Pelle Strandberg remained in the #1 flight and paired up with Casey Schrader.  They went up 6-5, but ended up losing in a tiebreaker, 7-5.

Singles Results

• Schrader, who remained at #6, was the first to finish as he was swept, 6-1, 6-0.
• Schwebel moved back up to #3, where he took an early lead in the first set.  Ultimately, he fell 7-5, 6-2.
• Dos Santos was moved down to #4 for the first time.  He was a 6-3, 6-3 victim.
• Strandberg remained on the #1 court, where he has played all season.  He had a dominating second set but lost his momentum in the third and went down 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.
• Iermolov also had a big second set, but like his teammate, could not get over the hump in the third, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
• Nguyen, a mainstay at #2, shook off a slow start, but ultimately fell 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
