UIC will host Robert Morris in the teams' first meeting as Horizon League foes Friday afternoon.
The Flames, who last week were the last Horizon League squad to fall from the ranks of the unbeaten, will look to start another winning streak and remain at or near the top of the conference standings. The first through fifth place teams are separated by just three points.
"Robert Morris is trending in the right direction, which is no surprise to anyone who is familiar with their coaching staff. They are more organized in their defending and in their attack,"
Sean Phillips said. "We have to put together the right response from where we were short against Green Bay. It's been a good week of training but we will be challenged against a team that is coming off an impressive win."
The Flames scored just one goal in their loss at Green Bay last week, snapping a streak of three straight matches with multiple goals. UIC sits second in the conference in scoring and fourth in goals-against average.
The teams have faced each other once before, in the 1996 season opener. The neutral-site match at Myrtle Beach, S.C. ended in a 2-2 draw.
