Senior Day 2021

Flames Top Milwaukee on Senior Day

Regular Season Ends With Men's and Women's Victories Over the Panthers

3/20/2021 4:23:00 PM

UIC closed the regular season with men's and women's wins over Milwaukee on Saturday.  Liam Davis, Jan Komorowski, Lilly Culp, Cydney Liebenberg, and Felix LaFortune all won multiple events.

"We were able to rely on our depth today," Tim Loeffler said, after his teams closed the season with 2-2 records and splits with Milwaukee in home-and-home dual meets.  "I'm happy with our leadership.  It's easy to just focus on conference at this time of year, but we had a lot of swimmers who needed to get times to set them up for conference.  We were happy to get those today."

Before the meet, seniors Cannon Claiborne, Jacob Cunningham, Nikki Eyssen, Felix LaFortune, Cydney Liebenberg, Connor Mitsch, Ryan Murphy, Gabriele Sasia, and Kallie Zuidema were honored for their accomplishments and contributions to the program.

"The point of this meet was to honor our senior class," Loeffler stated.  "Not only is it difficult to be a Division I athlete for four years, but to have the past year we've had and to stay committed to the program and keep pushing forward is one of the most amazing things I've seen in my coaching career."
