Gustavo Schwebel earned a singles win, providing a point for UIC in the team's 6-1 loss at Northern Kentucky Sunday.

"Gustavo played at a top level and potential, staying aggressive" throughout his straight-sets win, said Hans Neufeld.

The win pulled Schwebel into a tie for the team lead, with three on the season.  It was the first Horizon League win of the freshman's career.

The Flames will wrap up the regular season next weekend.

Doubles Results

• Artem Iermolov and Casey Schrader were the first to finish, falling 6-1 at #3.
• Pelle Strandberg and Luiz Dos Santos went down 6-3 at #1 to finalize the doubles point.
• Schwebel and Anthony Nguyen trailed 5-3 and had their set at #2 go unfinished.

Singles Results

• Strandberg went down 6-3, 6-1 at #1.
• Schrader's match at #6 ended in NKU's favor by the same score.
• Iermolov battled on the #5 court, but couldn't win the key games necessary in a 6-4, 6-4 setback.
• Schwebel got the Flames on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #3.
• Nguyen's match at #2 was a 6-3, 6-4 decision for the Norse.
• Dos Santos was the last to wrap up, falling 7-6, 6-2 at #4.
