UIC emerged victorious over Valparaiso in the Flames' first dual meet since early November. The Flames women won every event in getting their first dual win of the season, while the men won every race except one at Valparaiso Aquatic Center.
"I was really happy with how we performed, considering it's been two months since our last competition and we are still missing a significant amount of the team" in Covid protocols,
Tim Loeffler said. "It just felt good to be racing again."
Even at less than full strength, the Flames had enough depth to easily outpoint the Beacons. Four men and three women won two individual events each. Several swimmers claimed their first win of the season. Loeffler was forced to shuffle his relay teams, but UIC still won every relay with time to spare.
The Flames will honor their senior class at Flames Natatorium Saturday.
