A busy October will conclude with UIC's first road meet of the season, but the Flames won't have to travel far.  A short trip to Northwestern awaits them on Saturday, where the men and women will both be in action against the Wildcats.  Illinois, which only fields a women's team, will compete as well.

UIC's women will wrap up their third straight week of competition.  Following a season-opening win over Milwaukee, the Flames came in fourth at the Valley Showcase last weekend.  Taira Juronis had several high finishes, as did Victoria Thor.  The Flames swept the diving events, courtesy of Ciara McCliment (3-meter) and Kerry-Leigh Morrison (1-meter), whose win was the first of her collegiate career.

The Flames men also topped Milwaukee.  Liam Davis, Jan Komorowski, and Jeff Wiedoff were all multiple event winners.  UIC's depth was evident in sweeping the top three spots in the 100 back, 100 breast, and 200 breast.  Freshman Bruno Carrillo will look to continue his promising start, as he had a first and a second place finish in the opener.

Illinois has victories over Valley members Indiana State, Illinois State, and Southern Illinois this season.  Northwestern will be swimming competitively for the first time on Saturday.
