CHICAGO – The UIC Department of Athletics and the Flames Athletic Fund enjoyed a successful #GivingTuesday campaign earlier this month, with more than 200 donors contributing over $30,000 to the program.
 
Gifts made during the #GivingTuesday campaign support UIC's 18 sport programs and support units including spirit programs, sports medicine, and the Port Academic Center. Every dollar raised goes to enhance the experience of the 300 student-athletes that comprise the Flames Athletics program.
 
"Once again, UIC alumni, fans and friends have stepped up and demonstrated their support for Flames Athletics," said Deputy Director of Athletics Frank M. Cuervo. "This has been a truly memorable year for the Flames with so many great performances on the field, in the classroom and in the community, not to mention the historic occasion of UIC becoming the 12^th member of the Missouri Valley Conference, one of the oldest and most respected leagues in college sports. The financial support of our donors allows us to pursue excellence at the highest level and compete for championships. We thank everyone who helped make Giving Tuesday 2022 a success."
  
The entire UIC campus enjoyed an incredible #GivingTuesday 2022, as nearly 1,700 individual donors contributed more than $1.4 million during the week-long effort. The Flames were among the leading units on campus, as athletics finished with the second most total donors and in the top 10 in total dollars raised.
