2/13/2022 4:44:00 PM

UIC women's basketball (2-19, 1-15 Horizon) host Detroit Mercy (0-23, 0-16 Horizon) in a make-up game on Monday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m. This game was originally scheduled for Feb. 4 but was postponed due to travel complications from Detroit Mercy.

The Flames played Wright State in their last outing on Saturday, Feb. 12. UIC managed an impressive near comeback in the final quarter behind some incredible play in the final two minutes. The Flames pulled within two points but were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 69-63.

Detroit Mercy has yet to win a game this season, sitting as one of three teams in division one to have no wins on the season. The last time these two teams faced off was back on Dec. 4, 2021, at Detroit. The Flames went on to defeat Detroit Mercy in overtime behind the phenomenal efforts of Jaida McCloud and Kristian Young. Young was able to pull the Flames back into the game in the final minutes of regulation, sinking two clutch free throws to force overtime. McCloud scored a career-high 30 points in the game and put up six of the Flames 11 points in overtime.

This game will be the first game of a doubleheader, with UIC men's basketball following with a game against IUPUI. The Flames will look to win the regular-season series over the Titans for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Tip off for tomorrow's game is scheduled for 4 p.m., at Credit Union 1 Arena.
