UIC swept local rival Elmhurst Monday, winning an impromptu match 7-0.
The teams had an agreement to play each other on a date to be mutually agreed upon during the season. Taking advantage of 70-degree temperatures in the Chicago area, the match was quickly arranged.
Having played conference foe Northern Kentucky on the road the previous day,
Hans Neufeld rested some of his regulars and gave other players a chance to compete at new spots in the lineup. Each Flame responded with a straight-sets singles win, after the team began the day by winning all three doubles sets.
