CHICAGO – UIC head women's soccer coach
David Nikolic continued to bolster his roster for the upcoming 2022 season with the addition of five players to the women's soccer roster. The Flames will welcome a trio of freshmen along with two transfer students.
"As we near completion of our 2022 incoming class, the intent has been to increase our depth in multiple positions while adding versatile players that share a similar belief in how the game can be played," said Nikolic. "We add another solid crew of young women with hopes that they help give us balance as we build for the 2022 season."

Sophia Jaime will join the six members of the incoming class that were
previously announced. This newest batch of Flames feature a nice balance of youth and experience and will make an immediate presence across the field.

Addison Carriere (Austin, TX- Sting Austin ECNL, TX)
Helped her high school team win three district championships, achieve a state 6A runner-up finish, and an additional 6A Elite Eight...team captain at Vandegrift...named the school's overall varsity MVP and the district MVP...first-team All-District and All-Region...member of the All-Star State Tournament Team...earned an ECNL ID camp invitation and played in the ECNL Texas Conference Selection game...an academic all-district selection all four years...academic all-state honor...four-year honor roll student...sister played soccer at LSU...daughter of Amity and Kevin Carriere...full name is
Addison Carriere.

Kaysey Castro (Fishers, IN- Westfield Fire Juniors ECNL, IN- Bowling Green)
Spent her freshman season on a member of the MAC Champion Falcons at Bowling Green…Member of the sectional championship team as a sophomore...was a First Team All-Conference selection each of her final three years...named to the First Team All-District squad twice, and made three All-State teams, including two first team selections...club team made the ECNL playoffs twice and the DA playoffs once...advanced to the playoff Elite Eight...was a two-time Academic All-State selection...both parents played soccer at Indiana Wesleyan...father went on to coach Indiana Wesleyan for 11 years and currently coaches Marian...daughter of Mark Castro and Dawn Bruh...stepdaughter of Adam Bruh.
Nikolic on Castro: "Kaysey is a player that I have tracked previously in the recruiting process and when she became available as a transfer, I wanted to connect with immediately. She will look to feature for us in the back line or as a low midfielder and possesses a strong understanding of the game and necessary requirements to succeed at the NCAA DI level."
Frankie Frericks (Cary, IL- Sockers F.C., IL- Stetson)
Spent the last three seasons at Stetson after playing her freshman season at Creighton…Appeared in 38 collegiate games, making 12 starts…High school team appeared in the state sectional finals...made the all-conference and all-area teams...member of the National Honor Society...father played soccer at Western Illinois...brother plays basketball at Lewis University...daughter of Lance and Kristin Frericks.
Nikolic on Frericks: "Frankie is a transfer who we welcome home to the Chicagoland area. She is a dynamic and versatile attacking player whose quick thinking around the penalty area will relied upon this fall. Her maturity and quiet steady leadership will be appreciated both in the locker room and on the field. She is a product of the Chicago Sockers club and brings a winning attitude each day."
Patricia Georgiou (Gurnee, IL- FC 1974, IL)
Member of the Tri-Conference and Regional championship team as a junior...earned honorable mention selections to the All-Sectional, All-Area, and All-Conference teams...part of a powerhouse club team that won two state championships, a Midwest Conference championship, qualified for the USYS regional and national championships, and won the National League Red Division championship twice...named to the Best XI in the USYS Midwest Conference...three-time member of the Illinois ODP state team...named to her high school's honor roll and National Honor Society...daughter of Angel and Andrew Georgiou.
Nikolic on Georgiou: "Trish is a goalkeeper who arrives at UIC after playing the last two years with FC 1974 out of Libertyville, IL. We have been impressed with her ability to read the game well and is a quality shot stopper. We look forward to seeing her develop and compete in our competitive environment from the start!"
Sophia Jaime (Valparaiso, IN- Indiana Fire ECNL)
Helped lead Valparaiso to the conference and sectional championships, and the regional finals, as a senior...named team and conference MVP as a senior...two-time All-Conference and All-Area first teamer...made the All-State first team as a senior...named Post Tribune Player of the Year her senior season...with her club team, won the Illinois State Cup Championship in 2017...member of the ECNL regional qualifiers in 2018, and was a State Cup regional qualifier in 2021...her parents were both athletes at Kankakee Community College...father played baseball and mother played volleyball...daughter of Mary Joe and Fred Jaime.
Nikolic on Jaime: "Sophia had come on to our radar later in the recruiting process. A product from the Indy Elite program in Northwest Indiana, Sophia is a true left footed attacking player who strikes the ball very cleanly, is willing to go strong in 1 v 1 attacking situations and will compete for minutes along our front line or attacking midfield positions."
