CHICAGO – Recent UIC graduate Jamie Ahale has signed his first professional contact as the Australian native has inked a deal to return home to Australia to play for the Kilsyth Cobras. Ahale made his professional debut on June 18 against Mount Gambier, playing 19 minutes off the bench while scoring four points.

Located Kilsyth, a suburb of Melbourne, the Cobras compete in Australia's NBL1 league. It will be familiar territory for Ahale, who spent his prep career competing on the Cobras' junior team. The 3-point specialist was named the Junior Cobra Player of the Year in 2016, helping lead his team to a U18 VC silver medal, before earning the Big-V Rising Star award in 2017. That season, Ahale helped the Cobras to the VYC championship and an U20 VC gold medal.

Ahale ended his UIC career with 172 career 3-point field goals, tied for eighth most in UIC history. The sharpshooter nearly set the single game record for 3-pointers on Dec. 19, 2020, when he knocked down eight in a win over Oakland, tied for the second-most in UIC single-game history. Ahale made at least one 3-pointer in 86 of his 119 (73.3%) career games in uniform for the Flames.
