CHICAGO – UIC head men's basketball coach
Luke Yaklich has announced the addition of
Bessanty-Aime Saragba to the Flames roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
"We are so excited to welcome
Bessanty-Aime Saragba to our basketball program," said Yaklich. "He is a great competitor that provides us size, length and athleticism. He has passion for the game and hunger to improve and grow. We are excited to Bessanty arriving to campus this week and getting started with workouts next week."
A native Marseilles, France, Saragba graduated from Trinity Collegiate School in Darlington, South Carolina. A 6-foot-10 center, Saragba earned All-Region and All-State honors three consecutive years for the Titans. Saragba helped his team to a 2021 Class AAA State Championship in South Carolina after finishing runner-up in 2020.
As a senior, the center nearly averaged a double-double with 11.2 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and two assists per game.
