CHICAGO – The UIC men's basketball team will play it's first of two consecutive road games Saturday, as it will travel to Murray, Ky. to take on Murray State. Saturday afternoon's tip-off from the CFSB Center is slated for 3:00 p.m. CT.
Â
MATCHUP BREAKDOWN
- Saturday's matchup will be just the third-ever meeting between the two sides, with each claiming a lone victory. The first two meetings took place in the same calendar year, one in February and one in November of the next season.
- The Racers enter Saturday's contest as losers of their last two games, but still sitting in seventh place in the Missouri Valley standings.
- Murray State boasts an impressive 67-58 win over Bradley at the CFSB Center, but also lost to Drake 82-64 on Jan. 7.
- Crashing the glass is a focus for the Racers, who rank fourth in the conference in offensive rebounding as a team, and rank third in team defensive rebounding.
Â
MILESTONES
- Graduate student Tre Anderson tallied four assists in UIC's Jan. 7 defeat at Indiana State, bringing his career total to an even 200.
- Toby Okani snagged five rebounds in the Flames' Jan. 10 overtime loss to Drake, with the second of those rebounds being his 300th career board.
Â
TRYING THE TRIPLE
- In games this season that the Flames shoot better than 35 percent from behind the arc, UIC has a 4-2 record, conversely owning a 5-7 record when falling below the 35 percent mark.
- The Flames rank 93rd in NCAA Division I in three-point attempts per game with 23.9.
- Jace Carter has attempted the most three pointers on UIC's roster this season, netting 27 of his 102 tries behind the arc.
