BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The UIC men's (2-4, 0-2 MAC) and women's (3-4, 1-1 MVC) swimming teams are heading on the road Friday to compete against Illinois Wesleyan.
The Flames are on the road for the first time since Jan. 14, after hosting the University of Chicago at the Flames Natatorium last Friday.
Taira Juronis finished first in the 100 breast against UChicago, clocking in a time of 1:04.83. She also placed first in the 200 breast (2:20.08) and was part of UIC's winning 200 medley relay team (1:46.80) along with
Lizzie Zeller, I
zabella Del Rosario and
Poleena Kovalaske. On the men's side,
Daniel Galinski earned a first-place finish last Friday in the 100 breast, finishing with a time of 56.85 and also won the 200 breast, touching in at 2:06.18.
Friday's meet against the Titans begins at 6 p.m inside Fort Natatorium. There will be no diving events at this meet.
