Flames In Search of Second Victory of Season Over Redbirds

NORMAL, ILL. – The UIC men's basketball team (9-14, 1-11 MVC) returns to road action Wednesday, as it heads to Normal, Ill. to take on Illinois State (9-14, 4-8 MVC). Tip-off from CEFCU Arena is slated for 7:00 p.m. CT.
 
MATCHUP BREAKDOWN
 
  • The Flames and Redbirds will meet Wednesday for the second time this season, with UIC taking the first matchup in a low-scoring affair, by a final score of 55-51 at Credit Union 1 Arena.
  • After losing four consecutive MVC games in January, the Redbirds got a quality win last time out, defeating conference-leading Southern Illinois Jan. 29 by a final score of 72-66.
  • Seneca Knight leads Illinois State in terms of scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game. Kendall Lewis is the leading rebounder for Illinois State, ranking sixth in the Missouri Valley rebounding standings averaging seven boards a contest.

  • Tre Anderson is slated to appear in career game number 100 Wednesday, having played three seasons at San Francisco and a season at Idaho prior to coming to UIC.

  • UIC ranks first in the Missouri Valley Conference with 105 blocked shots this season, for an average of 4.57 per game.

  • In games where UIC scores at least 70 points, their overall record is 6-4, whereas games when the Flames score 69 or fewer points, their record drops to 3-10.
