FLAMES FACTS
  • After a Sunday 0-0 draw against #9 Missouri State, the Flames (7-3-2, 2-1-1 MVC) return home for their first home match of October, as the Flames look to return to the win column in conference play.
  • Despite scoring just one goal in its previous three matches, UIC remains in the top-50 in the NCAA in scoring average, ranking 41st with an average of 1.83 goals per match. Redshirt junior defender Jesus De Vicente (Casas Bajas, Spain/Iowa Western CC) still ranks in the top-10 nationally in assists per match, as he has tallied seven helpers in 11 contests.
  • Andres Vasquez (Pittsburgh, Penn.) was named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 10 for his six-save effort against Missouri State Oct. 8. Vasquez's six saves tied a season-high for any Flames keeper this year and is his third-highest single-match total in his career at UIC.
  • Sophomore defender Paul Brauckmann (Welver, Germany) leads the Flames in minutes played this season, as he has been on the pitch for 1,074 of a possible 1,080 minutes in 12 matches. Brauckmann is also tied for the UIC lead in match-winning goals, as both of his tallies on the year have served as eventual match-winners.

The Aces (3-6-3, 1-2-1 MVC) also enter play this weekend winless in their previous three matches, most recently suffering a 2-0 road defeat at Indiana Wednesday. Evansville currently sits in sixth place in The Valley standings and is 0-1-1 against common opponents of the Flames this season (Western Michigan, T, 2-2, Drake, L, 1-2).
