TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Oct. 20, 2023) – The UIC swimming and diving program had strong showings at the Vigo County Aquatic Center Friday afternoon, as the men's and women's program combined to go 3-1 against the competition.

Competing against Southern Indiana, the men's program defeated the Screaming Eagles 200-98 to earn its first team win of the season.

On the women's side, UIC went 2-1 in its quad meet against Southern Indiana, Evansville and Indiana State. The Flames earned victories against the Screaming Eagles (198-101) and the Purple Aces (182-98) but fell short against the Sycamores (232-68).

COMMENT FROM SWIMMING AND DIVING HEAD COACH ASHLEY DELL:
"It was another solid meet for the Flames. Indiana State got second last year at the 2023 MVC Swimming and Diving Championships, so it was a great opportunity for our women to compete against them this early in the season. Our men competed extremely well tonight and it was fun to see them support each other from start to finish."

COMMENT FROM ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH/HEAD DIVING COACH SUSAN BROMBERG:
"I thought the divers did well today. We are really focused on making consistent improvements each time they compete. I saw everyone make some of those changes today."
