KALAMAZOO, Mich (Nov. 5, 2023) –The UIC men's tennis program concluded its fall portion of the schedule Sunday at the 2023 MAC Indoors, as the Flames combined for six match victories in the tournament.
 
UIC was one of six MAC programs competing at the event along with host Western Michigan, Ball State, Buffalo, Northern Illinois and Toledo.

MAC Indoors Recap

• In doubles competition, UIC's pairs of Randy Wilson (Miami, Fla./Florida Gulf Coast) and Aleksa Bucan (Belgrade, Serbia/Arkansas) and Gustavo Schwebel (Salvador, Brazil/ Colegio Antonio Vieira) and Edoardo Bottino (Genoa, Italy/Queens University) both won two of their three matches in the No. 1 doubles flight.
• In the No. 1 singles flight, Bucan won his first two matches of the tournament. He finished the flight in fourth-place.
• Bottino was the other UIC competitor to win a singles match. The senior defeated Ball State's Mason Tran in his second match of the tournament.
• The other two Flames to compete at the MAC Indoors were Elliott Dam (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) and Artem Iermolov (Las Vegas, Nev./Clark).
• The 2023-24 season marks UIC's first as an affiliate member of the Mid-American conference in men's tennis.
