EVANSTON, Ill. (Nov. 9, 2023) – The UIC women's basketball team (1-1, 0-0 MVC) fought to the end in a hard fought overtime battle against Northwestern on Thursday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena, falling 92-86 to the Wildcats. Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) and Dais'Ja Trotter (Louisville, Ky./Seneca/Cincinnati) tied for a team-high with 22 points scored.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"We're going to build off this and continue to improve," said head coach
Ashleen Bracey. "Basketball is a game of runs, so that's part of it. We knew we needed to treat this like a boxing match, a 12-round fight, and wear them out over time. We responded to the runs, and that's all I can ask from my team. If we can find a way to shoot better from the free-throw line, we would have come out successful tonight."
