NORMAL, ILL. – The UIC Flames men's basketball team opened the month of February on the road Wednesday, as it traveled south to take on Illinois State. The Flames rallied late in the contest to force overtime, but were unable to come out victorious, dropping their tenth straight contest by a final score of 68-62.

FIRST HALF

- The Redbirds started the game making five of their first nine shots, opening a 13-0 lead before the Flames tallied their first bucket.
- Tre Anderson scored the first four points for UIC, playing in his 100th career game on the night.
- The Flames closed the gap prior to the 10-minute mark, using a 10-4 run to narrow the lead to 17-10.
- UIC would use the three-pointer to narrow the deficit, forcing an ISU timeout after an Anderson made three to make the score 22-16.
- Illinois State would go on to shoot 52.2% from the field in the first half, and enter the locker room with an 11-point advantage at 33-22.

SECOND HALF

- Anderson continued his productivity to start the second half, going four for his first seven shots, including three of his first four three pointers to net 13 points by the under-eight timeout.
- The Flames used an 8-0 run in the middle of the second half to bring the contest within five points at the 7:44 mark.
- Jace Carter's pull-up jumper with 20 seconds remaining in the game would send the game to overtime, UIC's second overtime contest of the season.

- The Redbirds would outscore the Flames 14 to eight in the overtime period, five of which came from the charity stripe.
- Tre Anderson set a new season-high with 29 points in the contest, just three points shy of his career high of 32.
