CHICAGO – The UIC women's soccer team and head coach
David Nikolic have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2023 spring season.
The non-traditional season consists of six games, which are all just a couple hours away. The Flames begin action against Northwestern, which is the closest game they'll play this spring.
- Northwestern (Sun. Feb. 26 – 1 p.m.)
- UW-Parkside/DePaul (Sat. April 1 – 12 p.m.)
- Purdue University (Sat. April 8 – 11 a.m.)
- DePaul/Loyola (Sat. April 15 – 1 p.m.)
- UW-Milwaukee (Sun. April 23 – TBA)
Coach Nikolic says spring is a time to challenge the team and also a chance to experiment with lineups and player rotations. He adds, "Our schedule highlights the proximity we are to high level opponents. Our annual Chicago Cup starts off the spring season at Northwestern. They are coming off an incredible fall 2022 season and should be clear favorites for the Cup this year. We then return in April with all our games on the road first in Kenosha in two shortened games versus UW Parkside and DePaul, a trip to Purdue, back to Northwestern for the 2nd round of the Chicago Cup and wrap up our spring at Milwaukee on April 23rd."
The Flames added two new transfer players,
Delaney Engel and
Katelyn Nardulli. According to Head Coach Nikolic, both players will see minutes in midfield positions and their additions have been seamless.
