CHICAGO – The UIC men's basketball team returned to Credit Union 1 Arena Wednesday, following two consecutive road games a week prior. The Flames closed out their season series with Indiana State, and the Sycamores earned the season sweep, taking Wednesday's contest by a final score of 79-60.

FIRST HALF
- Just as the Sycamores did in their first matchup with UIC, Indiana State emphasized getting the ball in the paint early and often Wednesday. 12 of ISU's first 21 points came from inside the paint to start the game.
- UIC shared the ball well early on, assisting on four of its first six baskets.
- Jaden Brownell, coming off a career-high scoring performance at Belmont, helped keep the Flames in the game early, scoring five of UIC's first 14 points.
- The Sycamores used an 11-3 run late in the first half to build to a double-digit lead before the end of the frame.
- Courvoisier McCauley netted 21 points in the first half for the Sycamores, the most the Flames have allowed to a single player in a half this season.
Â
SECOND HALF
- The Flames came out of the locker room with much more firepower offensively, as a 6-0 UIC run forced an early Sycamores timeout and brought the deficit from 22 at half down to 15.
- Also coming off a career-high scoring performance, Jalen Jackson scored six early points in the second half to bring his total to 11 by the under-16 media timeout.
- The Flames defense also ratcheted up in the early second half, forcing six Sycamores turnovers in the first nine minutes of the frame.
- UIC used an 11-3 run to force an Indiana State timeout in the second half, bringing the deficit to just 10 at the time.
- The Sycamores re-gained control of the contest in the last five minutes, and would go on to win 79-60.
