CHICAGO – The UIC men's basketball team (10-17, 2-14 MVC) returns home Wednesday, for its first home game since Feb. 4. The Flames are set to host the Sycamores of Indiana State (18-9, 11-5 MVC), with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
Â
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT
- Wednesday's game is Academic Achievement Night for UIC, where the athletics department will honor the accomplishments of over 200 of its distinguished student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or better during the Fall 2022 term.
Â
MATCHUP BREAKDOWN
- The Flames and Sycamores will close their regular season series Wednesday, with UIC looking to bring the series level. The Sycamores bested the Flames on Jan. 7 in Terre Haute, Ind. by a final score of 80-60. The Indiana State combo of Courvoisier McCauley and Julian Larry combined for 35 points to help lead the Sycamores to victory.
- The Flames are 0-7 in games where the opponent shoots over 50%, and that is precisely what happened Jan. 7 in Terre Haute, when the Sycamores shot 52%, and also out-rebounded the Flames 39-24.
Â
DOUBLE DIGIT MACHINE
- UIC's Jace Carter has scored in double figures in 22 games in the 2022-23 season, including his last nine consecutive games, dating back to Jan. 10 against Drake.
- The sophomore has already tallied 29 career games scoring in double figures, including seven of his 17 starts in 2021-22.
Â
CAREER-HIGH DUO
- Jalen Jackson and Jaden Brownell both set new career-highs in points in UIC's Feb. 11 loss at Belmont, with Jackson scoring 21 and Brownell netting 12.

Wednesday night's game is sponsored by Xfinity, and the first 1,000 Flames fans in attendance will receive a jersey tank top, presented by Xfinity. The contest will be seen live on ESPN+, and audio will also be live streamed on the Flames Network.
