Men's Tennis Dominates Cardinal Stritch Sunday

Flames Win Fifth Match of Last Seven

Box Score MILWAUKEE, WISC. – The UIC men's tennis team closed out its two-match weekend Sunday, as it traveled to Milwaukee for a neutral-site matchup with Cardinal Stritch.
 
DOUBLES
  • Returning to the doubles line-up, Ammar Wazir paired up with Aleksa Bucan to earn a victory for UIC in the number three position, a clean 6-0 sweep.
  • Artem Iermolov and Pelle Strandberg secured the doubles victory for the Flames, winning their match 6-4 in the two slot.
 
SINGLES
  • Gustavo Schwebel was dominant for the Flames in the number four singles slot, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory, the only UIC player to not need a tie-break or third set to win their match.
  • Jai Vallurupalli earned a gritty victory in the number three slot, winning the tiebreak set 10-7 to help secure the clean sweep as a team.
 
The Flames will be back in action on Wednesday, as they head to Dekalb, Ill. to take on Northern Illinois.
